Are you tired of wearing contacts and/or glasses to see things in your day-to-day life? Wishing there was a permanent solution to your vision problems? Clarity Laser Vision in Calgary can help! We offer refractive and laser eye surgery to patients interested in correcting vision problems, allowing many patients to see better than they ever have in their lives. At our Calgary eye clinic, we offer various vision correction surgeries, including:
Touchless surface ablation (TSA) works by removing the outer layer of the cornea (known as the epithelium) using a laser before the cornea is reshaped using an excimer laser. TSA is a completely touchless procedure, using advanced laser technology.
LASIK can be a great option for patients that are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism. LASIK works by creating a tiny flap known as Sub-Bowman’s Keratomileusis in the outer layer of the cornea. Next, an excimer laser is used to sculpt the cornea. The tiny flap will then be put back in place to seal and heal itself.
Refractive lens exchange can correct extreme farsightedness and nearsightedness in patients and works well for people with dry eyes, thin corneas, or other minor cornea issues. It works by removing the natural lens in your eye and replacing it with an artificial implant called an intraocular lens. Refractive lens exchange can be combined with LASIK to correct a patient’s astigmatism.
For patients that are too nearsighted for LASIK, a Phakic Intraocular Lens can be a great option. Unlike refractive lens exchange, your natural lens remains in place. It starts with a small incision made at the edge of the cornea; the implant lens will then be attached to the iris or inserted behind the pupil.
