Dr. Marcella LaBelle is a highly experienced Optometrist who has worked alongside world renowned surgeons for the past 2 decades, providing pre- and post-operative care for Refractive and Cataract surgery. She has seen and done it all- starting in the field at age 16 and “growing up” working in various positions in the industry as she pursued her education and beyond.
She has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry and earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2002 from the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating on the Dean’s Honour’s List. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Society; an International Optometric Honour Society dedicated to high academic achievement.
She holds a special interest in Advanced Dry Eye care. and places emphasis on maximizing ocular surface wellness prior to any ocular surgery.
She is also the owner of OSITE Programs Inc, and through this company, developed an online preparatory coaching system to help patients narrow down their eye implant choices and prepare physically and mentally for cataract surgery.
Dr. LaBelle is a sought-after speaker throughout Western Canada on various topics surrounding surgical care and dry eyes. Dr. LaBelle’s academic involvement has included being a clinical examiner in Optometry board exams as well as overseeing Optometry student interns in the clinic. She is also a Key Opinion Leader for Alcon.
Dr. LaBelle is married to John, a previous business analyst-turned-stay-at-home dad to their young daughter, Ava.
